Hampton University has introduced a stunning new waterfront dining experience available at their new Dining Facility and Activities Hall. This two-story, 88,000 square-foot phenomenon flaunts a glass exterior that delivers striking views of the Hampton River, foliage, and neighboring marinas.
The $25M building features a traditional server and kiosk food service on the first floor and a full-service market style food court on the second floor. Both floors of the facility offer top to bottom views of the river and natural landmarks. The main floor features a traditional servery and kiosk food service, while the second floor offers a full-service market-style food court. Each dining area offers floor to ceiling views of the river and natural landmarks. In addition to dining spaces for faculty and staff, the facility features offices, conference rooms, and dry and cold storage.
The interior design, FF&E and procurement services were supplied by Hampton University’s trusted partner, Hillsman. Hillsman collaborated with the building’s design team on the project, which was led by a Hampton-based architect Livas Group Architects P.C. and Hampton University. Hillsman previously supplied design services for major structures on campus, including the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications and the Olin Engineering Building.
This novel and magnificent focal point of the campus is a reflection of Hampton University’s commitment to their students, faculty, and staff.
