Forest Park Public Safety Building

It is always an honor to work on a project in the public safety sector. Knowing our work is directly contributing to the betterment and comfort of public servants makes our work that much more meaningful. Recently, Hillsman partnered with Precision Planning to design a Public Safety Building for the City of Forest Park, GA. This single story 13,206 sq.ft. building will be home to both the Forest Park Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the Forest Park Police Department. Fire Station #3 will include a vestibule, lobby and triage area dedicated to serve city residents; there will be office spaces, a training/conference room, a 2-vehicle apparatus bay with decon vestibules and equipment areas for day-to-day functions. In addition, It will have a dayroom, dining area, kitchen and bunk areas for public servants, serving as a much needed space to decompress and rest during their 24-hour shifts. The Police Department will have a separate entry vestibule, lobby and office space for law enforcement to provide services to residents. Hillsman has been entrusted with selecting all interior finishes and providing all FF&E selections for interior spaces. In an effort to create a welcoming environment both inside and out, the interior design is taking its cue from the dynamic, modern exterior and bringing a clean, stylish aesthetic into the interior spaces. To match the strength and grit of future inhabitants, Hillsman selected an interiors palette with an industrial feel. This will be demonstrated by incorporating modern wood finishes and black metal accents, along with pops of blues and reds throughout the building. The end product will be a state-of-the-art structure and will provide a long overdue facility update for the dedicated public servants of Forest Park.
